Overview Northrop Grumman is seeking a

Test Engineering Manager 2

for the

Sentinel

program. Location:

VSFB, CA . This is a full-time role supporting the Sentinel program.

CLEARANCE TYPE: Secret . Travel: 10% of the time. Relocation assistance may be available.

What You’ll Get To Do

Grow, develop, and manage a diverse team of flight test and field engineers preparing ICBM launch facilities and launch centers for flight testing.

Manage personnel conducting missile componentry movement and emplacement, site post-launch recovery and next launch preparation.

Lead test procedure development and ensure employees are trained and qualified to perform those procedures

Oversee compliance with occupation health and safety for multiple job sites

Ensure Launch Facilities and Launch Centers are operable, safe, and able to support flight test operations

Manage test equipment, support equipment, and weapon system components under configuration control

Collaborate closely with other Northrop Grumman teams, our suppliers, and government partners on all aspects of Sentinel weapon system development

Plan and program ICBM flight test preparation activities addressing cost, schedule, and technical performance requirements in a fast-paced challenging environment

This position’s standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off.

Qualifications

6 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors Degree; 4 years with a Masters.

Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

At least one year experience leading a project and/or driving performance against schedule

Minimum 5 years experience working on developmental test teams

Minimum 2 years experience working with EVMS systems

Experience supporting US Government contracts and customers and/or project management in other industries

Experience tracing test requirements to systems engineering framework

Experience writing test plans and procedures

Nice to Have

Bachelor's of Science degree in STEM field with 6 years of applicable test, ICBM, and/or management/leadership experience, or 4 years with a Master’s of Science degree in STEM field

Active DoD Secret Security Clearance or higher awarded or reviewed in the last 6 years

U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)

Experienced at briefing senior levels of management and customers

Experience leading large cross-functional teams

Program planning experience

Experience working proposals or business development

Experience with formal design release processes

Experience developing and performing ICBM system maintenance or operations activities

Experience with missile component movements, heavy lift equipment, large missile handling equipment and vehicles

Experience with ICBM Launch Facility and/or Launch Center development and maintenance

Knowledge of ICBM flight test preparation and test procedures

Experience with developmental flight test operations in the Aerospace Industry

Experience in the development of flight test plans and procedures for a rocket system

EVMS (Earned Value Management System) familiarity, especially experience as a CAM (Control Account Manager)

Proficient in Agile Development practices and the use of applications such as Jira and Confluence

Salary and Other Details Primary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
