Infrastructure Project Manager (contract) role at Northern Trust. Northern Trust is seeking a Project Manager Professional to join the Infrastructure Program Management Office (TIPMO). The Technology Infrastructure Project Management Office (TIPMO) is responsible for delivering infrastructure capabilities that align with business capabilities at Northern Trust. Lead, plan, manage and direct multiple projects and teams simultaneously; maintain working relationships with Northern Trust Partners (and vendors when part of the project). Act as the lead for projects and receive supervision from Portfolio Leads or Program Managers. Be competent in all areas of project management. Ensure adherence to TIPMO project standards to deliver project objectives in Azure DevOps, and comply with IT controls, risk and regulatory requirements. Qualifications / Must Have Skills
PMI Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or CSM. Independent self-starter with ability to drive results, overcome obstacles and meet deadlines. Experience leading multiple concurrent projects under a program/portfolio. Experience leading technology projects and teams to execute highly complex initiatives of significant scope, scale and risk to deliver objectives and benefits. Skilled in adopting corporate project management standards (which incorporate PMI standards), IT controls, risk and regulatory requirements. Familiarity with project tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO), GitHub, Clarity-PPM, MS Office Suite, Power Automate. ServiceNow: APM, API Inventory, ITAM, GRC for IPT management, CMDB. Expertise in Waterfall, Hybrid and Agile methodologies. Analytical problem-solving skills; able to simplify complex problems. Adept at navigating a matrixed environment to influence all levels of the organization. Effective collaboration across teams ensuring engagement from all members. Nice to Have
Experience with infrastructure technology solutions (Servers, Storage, Network, Database, Middleware, Mainframe). Experience in a large financial services firm or highly regulated industry is a plus. Experience with risk assessment, controls, audits, and regulatory exams (e.g., Fed Regulator Exams, MRA/MRIA or Consent Orders). Experience leading application development projects. Responsibilities / Tasks
Support effective use of cloud Azure DevOps including but not limited to the activities listed below. Create automation scripts in Power Automate to reduce repetitive tasks. Create dashboards through queries to visualize data. Train technology teams on how to effectively use Azure DevOps to improve delivery and reporting. Consult with partners to ensure Agile development using Azure DevOps across engineering teams. Encourage adoption of DevOps, GitHub and CI/CD management; address issues using Azure DevOps technologies. Write documentation for Azure DevOps procedures. Design project plans in ADO and model for others how to do the same. Provide timely and effective communications on project status and health (scope, schedule, resource, budget) and articulate key risks/issues and impacts. Ensure adherence to TIPMO project standards in ADO; comply with IT controls, risk and regulatory requirements. Manage risk and dependencies including mitigation and contingency planning. Ensure clear roles and responsibilities for all project team members for deliverables and milestones. Partner with stakeholders to plan and manage project resources, stakeholder expectations and motivate project team. Establish and execute against project communication plans. Facilitate discussions and working sessions across teams with clear meeting notes. Pay Rate
