Per-diem MRI Technologist for MGH Chelsea (outpatient)
Site: The General Hospital Corporation One weekend per month + other shifts as needed. What's in it for you? Job Summary
Under general supervision, the MRI technologist will safely perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies using a magnetic resonance imaging system. Responsibilities include preparing patients, positioning, setting imaging parameters, acquiring images, performing computer processing, and displaying images. The technologist selects appropriate protocols, performs quality assurance scans, and works cohesively within the MRI Department, consulting with radiologists, nurses, and child life specialists as needed. Staff must rotate across MRI scanners within the department. Per Joint Commission guidelines, confirms patient identity and MRI exam details before scanning. Performs routine outpatient exams with and without contrast, optimizing scan parameters based on patient condition to ensure diagnostic quality. Manages MRI safety components and participates in clinical care coordination. Inserts IV catheters and administers MR contrast agents, monitoring for adverse reactions and recording all details in the EMR. Performs point of care testing as applicable. Instructs patients on MRI safety, ensures adherence to policies, and acts as a final safety check before scanning. Responds to emergencies by securing the area and removing patients and personnel from the magnet bay. Performs scheduled quality control on MRI equipment, records results, and reports issues. Assists with other departmental duties as needed. Qualifications
Certificate/Diploma in medical imaging required; Associate's preferred. MRI Registered Technologist with ARRT or ARMRIT within 1 year. BLS certification within 90 days.

Per-diem weekend coverage. Onsite work location: 151 Everett Avenue. Scheduled weekly hours: 0 (per diem). Work shift: Rotating.
