In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for building early brand strategy and preparing the market for a transformative launch. The role will report directly to the VP of Commercial and will include both US and Global responsibilities. You will bring strong expertise across commercialization strategy, digital/omnichannel, and stakeholder activation while thriving in a rapidly growing, entrepreneurial biotech environment.

This is a rare opportunity to build brand capabilities from the ground up, lead cross-functional pre-launch strategy, and lay the foundation for a successful oncology launch for the first indication of a highly promising product.

This role will ideally be based in our Boston office and follow a hybrid schedule, with three in-office days each week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop an integrated brand strategy and tactical plan that balances near-term needs with long-term growth.
  • Lead initiatives in disease education, stakeholder mapping, and audience segmentation across patients, providers, and institutions.
  • Lead the development of messaging and market activation strategies grounded in insights and market dynamics.
  • Build omnichannel strategy to establish a strong pre-commercial presence and reach key audiences.
  • Partner with Medical Affairs on KOL identification, early engagement, and advocacy planning aligned to brand objectives.
  • Select and manage creative agency partners to develop materials that elevate awareness and engagement.
  • Serve as the marketing lead on launch readiness teams, collaborating with Medical, Clinical Development, R&D, Investor Relations, Market Access, and Insights.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, or Marketing; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • 8–10+ years of experience in biopharma commercial roles; oncology experience strongly preferred
  • Experience in early-stage commercial strategy, ideally leading up to or including product launch
  • Background in product marketing, digital engagement, or omnichannel execution strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic campaigns across digital, unbranded, and scientific platforms
  • Proven cross-functional collaborator, with strong communication and project leadership skills
  • Experience with stakeholder segmentation, KOL engagement, and patient advocacy strategy
  • Agile, entrepreneurial mindset suited to a high-growth, fast-paced biotech environment

Company Overview

Bicara Therapeutics is a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company committed to bringing transformative bifunctional therapies to patients with solid tumors. Bicara’s lead program, ficerafusp alfa, is a bifunctional antibody that combines two clinically validated targets, an epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) directed monoclonal antibody with a domain that binds to human transforming growth factor beta (TGF-β). Through this dual-targeting mechanism, ficerafusp alfa has the potential to exert potent anti-tumor activity by simultaneously blocking both cancer cell-intrinsic EGFR survival and proliferation, as well as the immunosuppressive TGF-β signaling within the tumor microenvironment. Ficerafusp alfa is being developed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, where there remains a significant unmet need, as well as other solid tumor types.
