Description
The Product: AWS Machine Learning accelerators are at the forefront of AWS innovation and are used for building Generative AI on AWS. The Inferentia chip delivers top ML inference performance at the lowest cloud cost. Trainium provides the best ML training performance with high TFLOPS. This is enabled by the AWS Neuron SDK, which includes an ML compiler, runtime, and integration with frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and MxNet. AWS Neuron and Inferentia are used by customers such as Snap, Autodesk, Amazon Alexa, and Amazon Rekognition.
The Team
The Amazon Annapurna Labs team develops silicon for AWS, covering silicon engineering, hardware design, verification, software, and operations. The AWS Neuron team focuses on optimizing neural net model performance on AWS hardware, developing a deep learning compiler stack that translates framework descriptions into executable code. The team aims to create a toolchain that significantly boosts performance.
Your Role
As a Sr. Machine Learning Compiler Engineer III, you will lead the development and scaling of a compiler for large ML workloads, architect and implement critical features, publish research, and mentor engineers. You will collaborate with AWS ML services teams and be involved in pre-silicon design, product launches, and other projects. Experience in ML and AI accelerators is preferred but not required.
Candidates must be willing to relocate to Seattle.

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Proficiency in at least one programming language
- Experience in system design, reliability, and scaling
- Full software development lifecycle experience
- Experience mentoring or leading engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
