Staff Engineer, SoC Design Verification – Ethernet

Tenstorrent is leading the industry on cutting-edge AI technology, revolutionizing performance expectations, ease of use, and cost efficiency. With AI redefining the computing paradigm, solutions must evolve to unify innovations in software models, compilers, platforms, networking, and semiconductors. Our diverse team of technologists have developed a high performance RISC-V CPU from scratch, and share a passion for AI and a deep desire to build the best AI platform possible. We value collaboration, curiosity, and a commitment to solving hard problems. We are growing our team and looking for contributors of all seniorities.

Tenstorrent is seeking an engineer who will verify Ethernet subsystems in AI SoCs, including MAC/PHY, high-speed serial interfaces, and advanced switching features.

This role is hybrid, based out of Boston, Toronto, Ottawa or Santa Clara.

We welcome candidates at various experience levels for this role. During the interview process, candidates will be assessed for the appropriate level, and offers will align with that level, which may differ from the one in this posting.

Who You Are

  • Passionate about networking protocols (IEEE 802.3) and Ethernet subsystem verification.
  • Expert in UVM and protocol-specific verification environments.
  • Skilled in debugging complex Ethernet failures and driving functional coverage closure.
  • Collaborative team player who enjoys mentoring and improving workflows.

What We Need

  • Build robust Ethernet IP/subsystem verification environments using UVM.
  • Develop directed and constrained-random tests for MAC, PHY, PCS, VLAN, and 400G/800G links.
  • Debug failures collaboratively with RTL and firmware teams, driving coverage to closure.
  • Deploy protocol VIPs and integrate system-level verification techniques.

What You Will Learn

  • Verification of next-gen Ethernet subsystems for AI SoCs at 400G/800G speeds.
  • Advanced system-level co-verification with software-driven methodologies.
  • Exposure to chiplet integration and multi-block Ethernet verification in large AI SoCs.
  • Best practices in coverage-driven verification for networking protocols.

Compensation for all engineers at Tenstorrent ranges from $100k - $500k including base and variable compensation targets. Experience, skills, education, background and location all impact the actual offer made.

Tenstorrent offers a highly competitive compensation package and benefits, and we are an equal opportunity employer.
