Job Details
We are seeking a lateral litigation litigation associate to join our team, focusing on commercial litigation with a preference for experience in bankruptcy or foreclosure, construction, mechanics liens.
Job Responsibilities

• Handle commercial litigation matters including contract disputes, business torts, and partnership issues
• Work on cases involving bankruptcy, foreclosure, mechanics liens, and construction-related claims
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda
• Take and defend depositions; participate in court hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
• Collaborate closely with clients, experts, and internal teams to develop and execute litigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with deadlines and maintain high-quality work under pressure
  

Qualifications

• J.D. and licensed to practice in Illinois (or eligible for admission)
• 3–5 years of litigation experience preferred, though all qualified candidates will be considered
• Prior exposure to bankruptcy, construction, mechanics liens, or foreclosure litigation is preferred but open to all civil litigation backgrounds
• Excellent legal writing, research, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
• Comfortable with a 1800-hour annual billable requirement and one in-office day per week
