Dessert Holdings is looking for a Sanitation Lead in Aurora, CO. This position is responsible for leading general sanitation work. Sanitation workers clean up after production shifts by assisting with the breakdown of production equipment, scrubbing, scraping, washing, and sanitizing to maintain perfect sanitary conditions, all within the normal two-hour downtime. This role also requires understanding related Quality Management Systems, including SQF, HACCP, and GMP, to ensure the safety and quality of employees and products. The duties include ensuring food safety and product quality for SRO products. Any issues or threats to food safety or quality should be reported to a supervisor or authority.
Key Responsibilities

  • Perform tasks as assigned by the department lead/supervisor.
  • Multi-task with minimal supervision.
  • Work as a team player to ensure cleaning specifications are met safely and efficiently.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments.
  • Follow GMPs, SOPs, plant rules, policies, and codes of conduct.
  • Follow written and oral instructions.
  • Satisfy internal and external customer requirements.
  • Mix chemicals during the shift.
  • Assist in supervising sanitation laborers.
  • Assist the Sanitation Supervisor with ongoing training.
  • Understand and manage Quality Systems, including SQF, HACCP, and GMP practices, to ensure workplace safety and product quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Previous sanitation experience required; chemical use exposure is a plus.
  • Basic oral and written communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Flexible schedule, including overtime and weekends if necessary.
  • Ability to read and write in English or Spanish.
  • Active participation on the production floor.
  • Ability to handle objects, tools, or controls with hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to stand, reach, stoop, kneel, or bend.
  • Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; request assistance for heavier weights.
  • Exposure to environmental changes (heat, cold, dampness, chemicals).
  • Work environment involves strict safety rules approximately 100% of the time.
