Equipment Operator Environmental Remediation
O6 Environmental is a self-performing environmental contractor with over 20 years of experience delivering complex remediation, earthwork, and demolition projects across the U.S. Our work spans environmental construction, waste management, and industrial cleaning, with a focus on federal, private, and high-sensitivity cleanup sites. We are seeking experienced Equipment Operators to support environmental remediation and civil construction activities in the Beaumont, TX area. Operators will be responsible for safely and efficiently performing excavation, material movement, and site restoration tasks in support of both clean construction and contaminated site scopes.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, dozers, loaders, skid steers, and compactors
- Perform trenching, grading, backfilling, and other earthmoving tasks
- Follow direction from foremen and supervisors to complete assigned tasks
- Load, move, and stockpile materials as directed
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and assist with basic maintenance
- Work in coordination with site safety plans and control zones
- Participate in daily safety briefings and follow all site-specific protocols
- Support general labor and environmental fieldwork when not operating
Required Skills & Abilities
- Skilled in operating a variety of heavy equipment types
- Strong awareness of jobsite safety and environmental compliance
- Ability to read and follow grade stakes or GPS layout (preferred)
- Capable of working in tight spaces or areas with overhead or underground utilities
- Willing to wear PPE and assist with non-equipment tasks when needed
- Able to take direction, work well within a team, and adjust to dynamic site conditions
Education & Certifications
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER (preferred; training can be provided for qualifying applicants)
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Minimum of 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment in environmental, industrial, or civil construction
Work Conditions
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- May include physically demanding labor, confined spaces, and elevated work areas
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Must follow client and site-specific safety requirements
