Summary of Duties : Under basic supervision, the Parks Equipment Operator is responsible for operating light and/or heavy equipment in the installation, repair, and maintenance of assigned area of responsibility. Distinguishing Characteristics : This is the journey-level classification in the Park Equipment Operator series. The incumbent operates light and/or heavy equipment and follows procedures to accomplish end results, within guidelines. Incumbent may lead the work activities of others in the absence of the Park Equipment Operator, Senior. This class is distinguished from Park Equipment Operator, Senior in that the latter is a higher-level class in the series that performs more complex technical, investigative, and supervisory duties requiring a higher level of knowledge and skill.
