The Systems Administrator is responsible for building, operating, and integrating systems in the development environment, including development, testing, and BETA server environments. Key responsibilities include: Building servers from virtual and bare-metal machines Implementing middleware and COTS products Configuring and maintaining network services on servers Integrating systems and applications at service levels Writing shell scripts to automate administration tasks Maintaining machines using VMware tools REQUIRED Windows Systems Administration (Desktop/Server) 6+ years SAN Infrastructure 3 years Scripting/Automation Services 1 year Networking 4 years Security Compliance and Best Practices 1-2 years Experience with Middleware (Apache/Websphere/Weblogic) and Databases (SQL/Oracle) 3+ years Experience with Rational suite of software development tools (e.g., ClearCase, ClearQuest, RSA) Experience with hardware and software interoperability and configuration Understanding of system and network engineering principles, backup, and recovery best practices PREFERRED MCSE or RHCE certifications Understanding/Experience of security and patch management Understanding of authentication systems (LDAP, x509, SmartCard, SSO) Knowledge of government security standards and guidelines Experience with automated audit log collection and analysis tools Industry certifications such as CCNA/CCNP Additional skills include: Ability to work independently with various departments and agencies to meet goals and deadlines Knowledge of telephony services and technologies, including Avaya and Cisco platforms Ability to resolve telecommunications issues across multiple vendors Effective communication skills, both verbal and written Ability to work under pressure and maintain composure in chaotic situations Understanding of call center features like ACD, Call Vectors, VDN Ability to develop work and call flows Experience with WAN, WLAN, security, voice, and video networks Effective dissemination of information to teams and customers Understanding of complex network environments
