Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled professional to install, maintain and repair pipes and fixtures associated with heating, cooling, water distribution, and sanitation systems in commercial structures. The ideal candidate will fix commercial appliances such as dishwashers and gas cookers. They will inspect drainage and other plumbing systems for compliance with local and national regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpret blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials
- Install pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids
- Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation
- Assemble fittings and valves for installation
- Modify length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed for a building
- Use saws and pipe cutters as necessary
- Install heating and air-conditioning systems, including water heaters
- Collaborate with contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing
- Test plumbing systems for leaks and other problems
- Analyze problem and identify appropriate tools and materials for repair
- Follow health and safety standards and comply with building codes
- Write report documenting the problem and summary of actions taken
- Perform inspections of plumbing systems to identify and replace worn parts
Requirements:
- Knowledge of plumbing installation, repairs, and maintenance techniques
- Knowledge of plumbing codes
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics
- Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
- Ability to use hand and power tools
