Description Make your mark at the worlds largest HVAC company Daikin Applied is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Manager I !The Strategic Sourcing Manager I proactively manages assigned categories for direct material such as critical, complex component parts, finished goods, and/or raw materials with a domestic and international supply base. The SSM is responsible to identify and develop strategic supplier relationships supporting key DAA business requirements. What you will do: Prepares strategies for various commodities Negotiates supply agreements and counters price increase demands Creates opportunities for CIP savings and delivers year over year cost savings Acts as negotiator when supply deliveries default Understands the cost structures of the Supplier base Maintains high level contact with Suppliers Ensures the New Product Introduction (NPI) projects are fully support with Procurement roles Lead product development activities with key suppliers Identify/develop strategic OEM supplier relationships Reviews bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority Manage cost reduction programs consistent with Daikin Applied's business plan Confers with Suppliers to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule Selects products for purchase by testing, observing, or examining items Estimates values according to knowledge of market price Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid Prepares purchase orders or bid requests and approves invoices for payment Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, Suppliers, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelors degree is required (Business, Economics, Engineering, or Finance) 2 to 4 years experience in sourcing / procurement or related fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience Experience with domestic and international sourcing and supplier management Experience creating and implementing category strategies with 1-2 categories Strong analytics and problem solving skills Strong relationship management skills (internal stakeholders, peers, and suppliers) Bias for action, self-starter, adaptive to a dynamic work environment Critical reasoning and decision-making skills Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Work visa sponsorship is not available for this position Daikin Applied offers the following benefits for this position, subject to applicable eligibility requirements:
