Cumming, GA We are currently seeking a Biomedical Equipment Technician II (BMET II) to join our expert team of healthcare technology professionals. In this advanced role, you'll ensure the safety, functionality, and integration of life-saving medical equipment across our facilities. You'll operate with minimal supervision, collaborating with clinical staff, IT, and vendors to support complex systems and drive innovation within a leading healthcare network. Description: Independently be able to respond to any calls in the hospital, whether it is his/her area of expertise or not. Leverage expertise of and experience providing excellent customer service, general knowledge of medical devices and the knowledge of safety in all areas. Perform scheduled maintenance on a wide variety of medical equipment. Repairs medical equipment to return same to manufacturer's original specifications. Performs clinical support related to the operation and safe use of medical devices. Performs incoming inspection of newly received medical equipment, completing necessary paperwork to enter item into computer system, assign maintenance procedures, and document his/her time and activities. Participate in a hospital-wide after-hours on-call rotation. Orders repair parts and supplies, as needed. Coordinates and oversees the activities of outside service vendors. Assists in, or performs incident investigations. Performs design modifications of medical equipment, as approved by manufacturers or Department Director. Assists more senior technicians in wide variety of duties. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipment malfunctions, unsafe conditions or employee/patient/visitor injury to Manager. Qualifications: Minimum 3 years of experience supporting medical devices and systems in a hospital environment. Solid knowledge of electronic digital circuitry and electro-mechanical systems. Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to interpret architectural and systems drawings. Effective communication and presentation skills. Strong understanding of internet protocols, networked systems, and cybersecurity in medical environments. Team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement, with little monitoring needed. Education & Certifications: Required: Associate's degree in Electrical, Biomedical, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent military training). Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related engineering field. Preferred: CompTIA A+, Net+, CCNA, CBET, PMP, or Equivalent
