TITLE: School Nutrition Cafeteria Cashier/ Worker
EMPLOYMENT TERMS:
180 Day Employee Hours as assigned $14.88 an hour 5.5 hours for Elementary Site To Be Determined
PRIMARY FUNCTION : Serves as cashier for school lunch and breakfast program, handling all transactions according to written operational and accountability procedures. Prepares and cooks quality foods, serves food and cleans kitchen and cafeteria areas and equipment.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Requirements: Follows written and oral instructions Follows the Board of Education approved collection and accountability procedures for receiving money for paid and reduced price student meals, extra sales, adult meals, and
beverages Checks tray for reimbursement of meals Keeps accurate daily records of the number of free, reduced, paid and adult meals sold in the point of sale Keeps accurate record of ala carte menu items sold in the point of sale Works with the manager in keeping free and reduced master list up to date, and accurate in the point of sale Establishes cooperative relationship with co-workers, teachers, and other school officials Deals effectively with children and parents in a pleasant and cheerful manner Has knowledge and understanding of material, methods and equipment used in food preparation. Abides by all sanitation regulations of food production Wears uniform that is approved by manager and director Wears black leather, non-slip, non-skid , closed toe shoes that meet safety regulations Attend all training that is offered for cashiers on a yearly basis
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED Must complete the Orientation for Nutrition Employees (30 hours State course) by the end of the first full year of employment.
Experience: Acceptable working experience of cafeteria Working with public and handling money
Skills Required : Ability to carry out assigned preparation, cooking, serving, and Cleaning duties as assigned. Lift a minimum of 20 lbs consistently. General math and computer knowledge and skills to perform responsibilities listed below.
