The Public Area Attendant will be responsible for keeping public areas clean, public restrooms, running laundry, and providing assistance to room attendants while making sure to follow a comprehensive cleaning process throughout the hotel and property in accordance with Company standards.

Core Functions

1. Adhere to Hyatt Hotels Corporation guidelines and core values to ensure the health, safety and comfort of our colleagues and guests.

2. Maintain the cleanliness of all public spaces on the property.

3. Clean all hard and textile surfaces and restrooms within public space; and respond to guest room requests in accordance with Company and Forbes standards.

4. Ensure internal windows and doorways are free of fingerprints and smudges.

5. Ensure that furniture and hard surfaces of public areas are clean and organized.

6. Ensure floors are free of debris and clean any carpet spots.

7. Ensure all surfaces of elevators are clean and free of debris.

8. Empty all waste receptacles in public areas.

9. Clean employee break room and employee restroom.

10. Ensure the Fitness Center is maintained in according to Forbes standards.

11. Assist in the laundering of colleague uniforms as well as all other items that need to be laundered in house.

12. Utilize chemicals according to directions and familiarize self with all Material Safety Data Sheets.

13. Follow procedures concerning protection against blood borne pathogens.

14. Practice safe work habits, wear protective safety equipment and perform all duties according to Hyatt Hotels and CalOHSA safety standards.

15. Maintain complete security of master key. Return the key at the end of shift. Never leave property with a master key.

16. Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel, and communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.

17. Provide items to guests upon request.

18. Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.

19. Other duties as assigned.
