OverviewResponsible for assisting with other craft workers in physical labor on jobsites while maintaining a clean, safe and efficient construction site and supporting the overall project. ResponsibilitiesPromote and comply with all Company and safety policies and proceduresComplete all required Safety documentationSignal operators of construction equipment to facilitate alignment, movement and adjustment of machinery to load, offload, push and pullLevel earth to fine grade specifications using shovel or other hand toolMix concrete or grout using portable mixerSmooth and finish freshly poured concrete using float, trowel or screedPosition, join, align and connect pumps, motors and other mechanical or metal partsMop, brush or spread paints or bituminous compounds over surfaces for protectionSpray materials such as water, sand, steam, vinyl, paint or stucco through hose to clean, coat or seal surfacesApply caulking compounds by hand or with caulking gun to seal crevicesGrind, sand or polish surfaces such as concrete and steel, using abrasive tools or machinesPerform tasks involving use of hands and tools such as torqueing/tensioning bolts and studs, assembling metal parts, building bolt cages, vibrating concrete, sawing lumber, dismantling forms, removing forms from concrete, and demolitions, cleanup, use of jackhammers, etc.Provide assistance on the site as neededPerform care and maintenance of assigned toolsPerform physical labor on construction sitesMay be required to travel to different jobsites on limited notice Other duties as assigned QualificationsEducation and Work Experience Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent (GED) and six to twelve months of related experience in constructionOr equivalent combination of training and experienceKnowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:Take reasonable care of your own and others' health and safety and of those who may be affected by the day-to-day delivery of this role by taking personal responsibility for working toward Wanzek's Zero Injury principlesRead and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAdd and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10's and 100's; ability to perform these operations using units, weight measurement and volumeAbility to understand units of force, pressure and torque and apply appropriate tooling adjustments for eachCommon sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral formBe able to work within precise standards of accuracy and follow set procedures and standardsWorking Environment:Regularly exposed to outside weather conditionsFrequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; and extreme heatOccasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibrationNoise level in the work environment is usually loudWhat's in it for youFinancial WellbeingCompensation: $24.00-$26.00/hourly, commensurate with experienceCompetitive pay with ongoing performance review and merit increase401(k) with company match & Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)Flexible spending account (Healthcare & Dependent care)Health & WellnessMedical, Dental, and Vision insurance (plan choice) - coverage for spouse, domestic partner, and childrenDiabetes Management, Telehealth Coverage, Prescription Drug Plan MasTec, Inc. is an equal employment opportunity employer.
