A Painter will prepare and paint vehicle surfaces, ensuring a high-quality finish, by mixing, applying, and blending paint, while adhering to safety protocols and customer and company specifications.
Key Responsibilities :
Surface Preparation:
Sand, mask, and prime vehicle surfaces to ensure a smooth, even base for painting. Perform minor bodywork, such as filling dents and applying putty. Remove and refit damaged components and trim.
Paint Application:
Mix and apply paint, primer, and clear coat using spray guns and other tools. Ensure precise color matching and flawless finishes. Follow manufacturer specifications and OEM standards for blending formulas, topcoat application, and curing.
Quality Control:
Inspect painted surfaces for imperfections and make necessary touch-ups or corrections. Identify and address any runs, sags, or unpainted areas. Ensure the paint job meets quality standards and customer expectations.
Safety and Maintenance:
Operate and maintain body shop equipment properly and safely. Wear all the required safety and health personal protective equipment. Maintain a clean and organized workspace. Comply with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials.
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate with the body shop team to meet production schedules and maintain quality standards. Communicate with customers to ensure satisfaction with the paint job. Assist with other tasks in the auto body shop as needed.
