Company Summary:
The Olympic Club is one of the oldest athletic clubs in the country. The Olympic Club has two campuses, the City Clubhouse in downtown San Francisco and the Lakeside campus on the border of Daly City and San Francisco.
Position Overview:
Reporting to and working closely with the Food and Beverage Manager at our Lakeside property, the
Food Runner
is responsible for supporting the dining sections of the restaurant outlets and assisting servers in running food from the kitchen to the appropriate table to ensure correct and timely service.
Essential functions and responsibilities:
Job duties are including but not limited to: Set up and breakdown of expedite station before and after each dining/banquet service. This includes but is not limited to the following: In Champions Bar: Ensuring expedite stations have necessary utensils (spoons, spatulas, plates, etc.) In Lakeview: Ensuring expedite stations have necessary utensils (soup spoons, steak knives, plates. etc.), prepped condiments (jelly, ketchup, butter etc.), trays, and to-go containers/cutlery. Banquets: Ensuring expo stations have necessary utensils (soup spoons, steak knives, plates. etc.), prepped condiments (jelly, ketchup, butter etc.), etc. Ensure trays of food have necessary accompaniments before running (i.e., ketchup, butter, steak knives, etc.) Run food from the expedite station to correct tables or food/buffet stations for a variety of service styles including A La Carte and Banquets. Assisting servers in serving food in accordance with seat numbers. Dinner shifts require an emphasis on assisting servers with the execution of fine dining service. Maintain clean work areas and other duties assigned as needed. This includes but is not limited to the following:
Supply Storage: Keep all storage areas organized and always stocked (i.e., metro racks and condiment storage.)
*Complies with all federal, state, and local employment laws, safety regulations and guidelines, Olympic Club bylaws and house rules, Club policies and procedures and Union contracts.
Non-Essential functions and responsibilities:
Willing and able to work occasional weekends, evenings and early mornings based on business needs. Attend pre-shift or other work-related meetings as scheduled. This position requires regular, ongoing communication, coordination and collaboration with the Clubhouse management team and staff including status updates on assignments, projects, and progress towards established goals/objectives. Qualifications Required:
Solid oral and written communication skills. Must have excellent customer service skills. Basic English communication skills required. Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time. Work independently and have attention to detail. Knowledge of restaurant operations. Regular attendance is required based on business expectations and needs. Qualifications Desired:
At least 2-3 years' previous bussing or food running experience in a busy fine dining. Highly organized. Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities. Enthusiastic about service Works well with a diverse group of employees. Restaurant/Hospitality experience preferred. Experience with a Point-of-Sale system or Reservation System Success factors/Job Competencies:
