Job Summary: As a Deli Employee at GFG, you will be an essential part of our team, ensuring the operation of our deli department runs smoothly. Your responsibilities will include maintaining the kitchen and hot bar, dishwashing, assisting at the front counter, handling bakery duties, and managing the juice bar. You are responsible for customers having a positive shopping experience by delivering excellent customer service, maintaining a clean and organized deli cafe and store area and efficiently handling transactions. Key Responsibilities:
Kitchen Maintenance: o Ensure cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area. o Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines. o Assist in food preparation, cooking, and assembly. Hot Bar Management: o Maintain and replenish the hot bar with fresh and appealing food items. o Ensure that food is presented attractively and follows quality standards. o Monitor and rotate food items to maintain freshness. Dishwashing: o Operate the dishwasher and maintain a clean and organized dishwashing area. o Wash dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly. o Ensure that all kitchen tools are sanitized and ready for use. Front Counter Associate: o Assist customers at the deli counter, providing information about products and taking orders. o Weigh, package, and label deli items for customers. o Maintain a friendly and helpful attitude with customers. o Greet customers in a friendly and approachable manner. o Assist customers in locating products and answering questions about merchandise. o Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally. Bakery Duties: o Assist with baking tasks, including preparing and baking bread, pastries, and other baked goods. o Ensure that baked goods are displayed attractively and are appropriately stocked. Juice Bar Management: o Prepare fresh juices and smoothies according to recipes and customer preferences. o Maintain cleanliness and order at the juice bar. o Provide information to customers about the benefits of different juices and smoothies. Store Maintenance: o Keep the store environment clean and organized by performing regular cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and organizing shelves. o Ensure that the aisles are free of hazards and that all products are neatly arranged. Teamwork and Collaboration: o Work as part of a team to ensure the store operates smoothly and meets daily operational goals. o Assist fellow employees with tasks and support management as needed. Physical Requirements: - Ability to stand for extended periods. - Moderate lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. - Manual dexterity to handle kitchen tools and equipment.
