Job Description & Requirements Specialty: Certified Surgical Technologist Discipline: Allied Health Professional Start Date: 10/06/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 32 hours per week Shift: 8 hours Employment Type: Travel Travel Surgical Technologist (CST) Start Date: 10/6/2025 Duration: 13 Weeks Shift Details: Shift: Days, 6:45 AM – 3:15 PM (8-hour shifts) Hours/Week: 32-hour guarantee (4×8 followed by 5×8 schedule) Weekend Requirements: 1 weekend per 4-week schedule On Call: 1 night per week and 1 weekend per 4-week schedule Position Overview: The Surgical Technologist (CST) provides support in the Operating Room by preparing and maintaining the sterile field, anticipating surgeon needs, and ensuring all instruments and equipment are ready and functioning. The CST assists in patient safety, accounts for medications, sharps, and instruments, and demonstrates a thorough knowledge of surgical procedures. Key Responsibilities: 30% : Demonstrates knowledge of surgical procedures and problem-solving related to the procedure. Verifies items on physician preference cards and ensures accurate patient charge documentation. 30% : Properly uses, assembles, and cleans surgical equipment and disposables. Ensures all instruments and supplies are ready and in working condition. 30% : Maintains sterile environments, monitors the sterile field, and recognizes breaks in technique. 10% : Sets up the sterile field efficiently. Keeps accurate count of medications, sponges, instruments, and sharps per policy.
