Position: Principal Procurement Engineer As part of the Energy Systems Global Supply Chain Solution (GSCS) Team, the

Principal Procurement Engineer

will possess strong technical and project management knowledge. The role involves leading procurement activities (pre-PO and post-PO) for Energy Systems, ensuring components are delivered on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards. Responsibilities include managing large-scale procurement projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and developing project implementation plans.

The Principal Procurement Engineer partners with GSCS teams to support project charters, benefits, and resource planning. The role involves monitoring project progress, resolving issues, and developing sourcing plans to minimize risks and generate savings.

The candidate should have strong project management skills, procurement expertise (RFx, Supplier Relationships, Contracts), and a technical background (civil, mechanical, electrical, etc.). The role requires interfacing with internal departments and external suppliers, emphasizing relationship management and innovative problem-solving skills.

Travel: 10-20% required.

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

Sign off on safety-related requisitions.

Review and communicate safety requirements with suppliers.

Support sourcing and procurement strategies with Offer and Project Teams.

Coordinate RFx processes, develop sourcing strategies, solicit quotations, analyze proposals, and negotiate terms.

Evaluate cost elements and develop strategies for cost improvements.

Maintain relationships with key suppliers, monitor supplier performance, and resolve issues.

Ensure compliance with procurement policies and regulations.

Manage supply commitments, handle contract changes, and support invoice resolution.

Utilize Best-Cost Country Sourcing, especially in middle/eastern Europe.

Qualifications:

BA/BS in engineering.

Minimum 5+ years in Project Management and Procurement; typically 10-12 years of experience.

Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus.
