Coordinates, monitors, and oversees the ongoing support, design, development, and management of enterprise database systems related to GIS operations to ensure the systems, information, and associated applications function and evolve as needs change. Note:

Position involves competing demands, performing multiple tasks, working to deadlines, occasional work beyond normal business hours, and responding to customer issues. Regular attendance is essential. Position is subject to drug testing per regulations and policies.

Position Details

Full-Time; Regular; Exempt. This position is graded at RX23. Duties and Responsibilities

Develops, recommends, and maintains standards for the implementation and maintenance of an Enterprise GIS (EGIS). Supports data conversion and importation using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS); creates interfaces between EGIS and business systems; acts as EGIS liaison to departments and agencies. Manages a centralized multi-user Geodatabase, including hardware/software resources, licenses, and configuration, using Esri products in a Microsoft SQL environment. Provides project and system support to GIS Analysts; develops application modifications and detailed design specifications. Develops and maintains GIS metadata; performs data audits and quality checks to ensure data integrity. Oversees quality control procedures; troubleshoots hardware and software issues related to Esri ArcGIS systems. Creates database designs, develops documentation, and verifies system and customer requirements. Analyzes business processes; acts as technical lead for projects; develops requirements and solution options. Conducts regular meetings to review work, resolve issues, and prioritize tasks. Manages staff through delegation; oversees projects; evaluates performance; trains and coaches employees. Prepares reports; maintains compliance with industry trends and regulations. Manages budgets; oversees procurement activities. Maintains records; evaluates programs; seeks operational improvements. Responds to complaints and inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Geography, Geology, GIS&T, or related field AND five (5) years experience with EGIS and GIS software such as ArcGIS SDE Geodatabase with MS SQL. A combination of education, experience, and training may be considered. Licenses/Certifications:

Valid drivers license may be required; acceptable driving record needed. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Knowledge of:

GIS principles, data management, safety practices, software applications, and relevant regulations. Abilities to:

prioritize tasks, communicate effectively, maintain confidentiality, operate relevant tools and vehicles, and exercise sound judgment. Skills in:
