Description
We are looking for an experienced Business Analyst to join our Transportation IT team in Independence, Ohio. This role focuses on supporting a custom-built transportation system and requires occasional on-site visits, with increased frequency during the initial month. This is a long-term contract position offering excellent flexibility and work-life balance.
Responsibilities:
Develop a thorough understanding of the custom transportation system and its database structure.
Collaborate with senior developers, IT staff, and operational teams to gather and define business requirements.
Produce ad hoc reports, including migrating Excel-based data requests, to assist operations and IT leadership.
Create detailed functional documentation for existing stored procedures using tools such as RedGate Documentor.
Contribute to planning and implementing future system enhancements, including UI updates and transitioning from Angular to Blazor.
Translate complex technical information into clear, actionable documentation for non-technical stakeholders.
Support invoicing functionality development and other modernization initiatives.
Balance multiple priorities by managing stakeholder expectations and aligning ad hoc requests with project deadlines.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Business Analyst, with a strong focus on technical documentation.
Proficiency in working with SQL queries, stored procedures, and optimization techniques.
Familiarity with tools and processes for documenting technical systems and workflows.
Ability to collaborate effectively with developers and cross-functional teams.
Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Experience in the transportation or logistics industry, or with custom enterprise systems, is a plus.
Knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies is preferred.
