Job Description

As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks across the shop, office, and facility. Duties include everything from advanced troubleshooting and repair of steel shop machinery to general maintenance and groundskeeping.

We are seeking a candidate with experience in overhead crane systems, PLC programming, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, low-voltage electrical work, and strong mechanical aptitude.

Ensures machinery and mechanical equipment operation by completing preventive maintenance requirements on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.

Locate sources of issues by diagnosing mechanical devices in operation by listening for problems, using precision measuring and testing instruments.

Remove and replace defective parts by dismantling divisions, using hoists, cranes, and hand power tools, and examining their form and texture.

Determines changes in part dimensional requirements by inspecting used parts, rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments.

Fabricates repair parts by using machine shop instrumentation and equipment.

Controls downtime by informing production workers of routine preventative maintenance techniques and monitoring compliance.

Maintains a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of the use of power tools and equipment

Knowledge of metal and basic shop fabrication equipment.

Ability to read and interpret diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer’s instructions, engineering specifications, and troubleshooting malfunctions.

Knowledge of overhead crane repair, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and control circuits/contacts

Ability to withstand pressure and adapt to change.

Ability to multi-task while meeting strict deadlines.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent or technical school certificate in mechanical-related field of study

Experience with machines and tools used in welding, including designs, uses, maintenance, and repair.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to move objects and use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.

Frequently moves materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

Constant movement and use of limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
