Pay Information $2,493 per week About The Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Behavioral Health Detox Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour night shift Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 1 year of addiction treatment experience preferred License: Current Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS (CPR) American Heart Association required Must-Have: National Identifier Number (NPI) and enrollment in Medicaid as required for services Description: Responsible for implementing and supervising nursing services in medical detoxification and residential programs. Implements nursing care in accordance with program procedures. Duties specific to the Registered Nurse include administering medications, treatments, and tests as allowed by law. Implements verbal provider orders and authenticates in writing, including in patient records. Communicates with healthcare providers and pharmacists effectively. Oversees all aspects of the detox patient admission process. Conducts pre-screening of new patients for appropriateness for admission, including health assessments. Inventories and cares for patients' personal possessions. Executes prescribed treatments and medical interventions according to established procedures. Records patient observations and activities accurately and timely in patient records. Actively and compassionately interacts with patients to encourage engagement in treatment after detoxification. Maintains a safe and sanitary environment applying principles of medical asepsis and infection control. Implements safety and emergency procedures during drills and other emergency situations. Provides patient education on healthcare as assigned or appropriate. Follows all policies and procedures regarding patient information protection. Attends regularly scheduled staff meetings and training on chemical dependency as required. Demonstrates a current working knowledge of applicable clinical procedures and nursing care based on policy and guidelines. Safeguards and promotes a culture of safety within the organization. Holds accountability to ethical and performance standards, demonstrating professionalism and honesty.
