Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Manager to take ownership of our inventory systems, processes, and accuracy. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate inventory counts, improving inventory flow and visibility, and implementing best practices in inventory management. This position plays a critical role in minimizing variances, supporting production and fulfillment, and ensuring data integrity across systems.
Key Responsibilities
Own all aspects of inventory accuracy: cycle counting, reconciliations, variance root cause analysis, etc.
Implement and manage cycle count program and inventory audits.
Collaborate with operations and production to ensure inventory is aligned with operational needs
Analyze inventory data to identify discrepancies, slow-moving items, and areas for improvement.
Improve and document inventory control procedures and policies.
Ability to effectively communicate financial impacts of inventory discrepancies as they arise.
Maintain and improve inventory stock locations, master data, and verify BOM accuracy.
Manage reordering levels of different products by analyzing trends, exceptions, minimum order quantities, etc.
Manage obsolete stock and ensure the site has minimum liability.
Ensure timely and effective communication where applicable at all levels of the organization.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Additional Responsibilities:
Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
Maintain neat, clean and orderly warehouse appearance.
Ability to work extended hours/over-time as needed as well as some Saturdays.
Adhere to all company policies and safety procedures and guidelines.
Conform to all quality and safety procedures.
May be required to operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
Required Qualifications or Experience.
Intermediate to advanced skills of Microsoft Products (Excel): 3+ years (Required)
Inventory control experience: 3+ years (Required)
Experience with manufacturing environments or standard costing methods
Knowledge of MRP Systems: 3+ years (Required)
Proficiency in ERP systems (Infor Syteline a major plus)
Minimum of three years of related experience.
Organized thought process with high attention to detail with ability to produce accurate results, effective prioritization to meet scheduled deadlines, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven time management skills with the ability to respond to time-critical issues and work overtime as needed to meet deadlines.
Excellent work ethic; ability to work self-directed and as a flexible team player.
Professional attitude and the ability to represent the company with integrity.
Ability to adapt to change in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Required to read and write English, follow verbal instructions and use simple math.
