JOB SUMMARY:
PG S116 Demonstrates ability to manage multiple scale and multi-discipline projects; performs responsible administrative engineering work in planning, permitting, reviewing, and coordinating engineering activities with a high degree of independent professional judgment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Plans, reviews, and coordinates the work of in-house staff and others performing engineering services. Coordinates and evaluates engineering and construction work involving ECUA facilities. Supervises subordinate professional, technical, and administrative personnel. Directs personnel in engineering and construction activities. Plans, coordinates, and reviews work of consulting engineers and contractors; reviews construction plans and specifications. Performs in-house design of water and wastewater projects. Reviews ECUA water & wastewater permit applications. Administers contracts with consulting engineers, construction, and other firms. Performs infrastructure condition assessments and recommends rehabilitation methods. Coordinates design, construction, inspection, and dedication of facilities. Studies major engineering problems and recommends solutions. Prepares reports as required. Analyzes, reviews, modifies, and performs computer modeling of water and sewer systems. Attends meetings and makes public addresses. Performs other duties as assigned. PROJECT ENGINEER (EI)
JOB SUMMARY: PG S113 This position supports permitting, construction, operation, maintenance, and rehabilitation activities related to civil/structural aspects of water production, distribution, storage, wastewater treatment, disposal, and reclamation facilities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Prepares civil/structural design drawings, cost estimates, material lists, reports, plans, and specifications. Analyzes reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, and geotechnical data for project planning and design. Uses engineering software and equipment for analysis and documentation. Calculates costs and assesses project feasibility. Prepares or oversees reports, specifications, plans, schedules, and environmental studies. Reviews permit applications. Participates in selecting and directing engineering consultants. Attends project meetings and discussions. Inspects construction sites for progress and standards compliance. Coordinates work with regional services, contractors, and agencies. May respond to emergencies or call-out work. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or sanitary engineering. Minimum of five years of relevant experience for Project Engineer P.E.; 0-4 years for EI. Licenses and Certifications: Valid Driver License; P.E. registration in Florida or eligible to obtain within one year. Employment is contingent upon passing background, drug screening, physicals, and other checks. The role involves indoor and outdoor work, potential exposure to chemicals and environmental conditions, and physical activity including lifting and climbing. Tools and Skills:
Computer, survey equipment, light trucks. Knowledge of engineering principles, codes, standards, supervision, and project management. Skills in organization, analysis, time management, and technical reporting. Proficiency in MS Word and Excel. Abilities:
