Job Description Note: GC and US Citizens Only We are currently seeking a qualified SQL Server Developer/DBA for an urgent project. If interested, please send your updated profile promptly. Position: SQL Server Developer/DBA Location: Richmond, VA (Local candidates only) Duration: 6 months Qualifications: Extensive experience analyzing query performance at both workload and individual query levels, with the ability to identify tuning opportunities to enhance throughput. Leadership experience with physical implementation of SQL Server, including configuring disk, CPU, and memory to support anticipated loads. Experience benchmarking SQL Server performance. Knowledge of Federated SQL Servers, SQL Server Replication, and PDW is a plus. Experience managing large tables and utilizing SQL Server features for their management. Proficiency with SQL Server 2008 and ideally SQL Server 2014, leveraging product features to address business needs. Experience managing database schemas across environments and leading a development team of 30+ developers. Hands-on experience with both normalized databases and star-schema data warehouses. Knowledge of database tuning for Cognos is advantageous. Ability to work independently, identify gaps, and seek solutions proactively. Strong analytical skills to evaluate and explain solutions, including pros and cons. Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder interaction. Ability to explain technical concepts clearly at all levels and pay close attention to detail. Sound judgment in decision-making and seeking guidance when necessary. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
