We are seeking an experienced and strategic Sr. Category Manager to lead and optimize procurement and category management initiatives across multiple product lines. This individual will play a critical role in driving cost efficiency, supplier performance, and long-term value creation for the organization. The ideal candidate will bring deep analytical insight, negotiation expertise, and a proactive approach to vendor and stakeholder collaboration.
Position Responsibilities
Category Strategy Development Develop and implement long-term strategies for assigned categories aligned with overall business goals Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and internal demand to drive sourcing decisions Lead cross-functional initiatives to identify and execute cost reduction and value creation opportunities Supplier Relationship Management Establish and maintain strong supplier partnerships to ensure quality, reliability, and performance Lead contract negotiations, performance reviews, and issue resolution Monitor compliance and performance metrics to drive continuous improvement Cost Management & Optimization Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements across categories Leverage data and analytics to optimize purchasing decisions and forecast category trends Collaborate with finance and operations teams to ensure alignment on budgeting and spend targets Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with internal stakeholders in product development, operations, and finance Align category plans with corporate objectives and cross-departmental priorities Act as a subject matter expert on category insights and sourcing best practices Prerequisites
7+ years of experience in category management, strategic sourcing, or procurement Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record of managing complex supplier relationships Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving abilities Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or consumer goods environments preferred Proficiency with procurement software and ERP systems Certifications (Preferred, but not Required)
Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) Six Sigma or Lean Certification MBA or advanced degree in Supply Chain or Business (a plus) What the Role Offers
