The Program Director will be responsible for the planning, development and effective implementation of a quality 21st Century Learning Community Center program that complies with current Delecare, Delaware STARS & 21st CCLC rules and regulations. The Program Director will work closely with the current Childcare Director at the Western Sussex Club to ensure a seemly connection for the benefit of the youth within the 21st Century programming. The position includes program management, staff supervision, community outreach, and grants management. The position requires knowledge of various educational approaches, software and other educational materials. Position is also responsible for communicating with the district staff to communicate program progress and maintain to ensure grant objectives.

Base pay range:

$43,888.00/yr - $51,000.00/yr

Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day operation of Club’s A.C.E.S., 21st Century Learning Community Center program and activities, in coordination with Childcare Program.

Create program and staff schedule in coordination with various Boys & Girls Club programming.

Interpret and maintain compliance with current state licensing (OCCL) and Purchase of Care (POC) requirements for school age childcare centers; address non-compliance issues as needed.

Develop and led an advisory group representing key stakeholders for the A.C.E.S., 21st Century Program.

Responsible for recruitment, registration and orientation for program participants.

Assist in hiring teachers and providing professional development

Control expenditures against an assigned budget; recommend income and expense projections for assigned area of responsibility; assist with the financial development of the 21st Century Program.

Hire and lead staff in implementing programmatic outcomes and S.M.A.R.T. objectives as established in the 21st Century Grant.

Ensure safe implementation of all 21st Century activities including the condition of equipment and facilities, age-appropriate activities and appropriate use of equipment and supplies.

Maintain appropriate, supportive and positive interactions with Club Members; establish and maintain behavioral boundaries per Boys & Girls Club guidance and supervision policies and guidelines.

Maintain regular contact with parents/guardians concerning program, schedule, developmental progress (victories and concerns).

Develop and maintain relationship with the school district faculty and administrators, BGCDE administrators and Club professionals, community leaders and supporters, etc.

Within established organizational guidelines, develop and maintain a system for accurately tracking necessary data for reporting. (program attendance, academic progress, behavior referrals, etc.)

Complete and submit reports and perform other administrative tasks as needed or directed, including but not limited to: Payroll, purchasing, Labor reports, Federal/state agencies; compliance

At all times, present yourself as a positive role model for youth and a strong ambassador of the organization.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements

Two years of experience in management or supervisory role

Must be able to pass an FBI clearance, State of Delaware Criminal History Background Check, National and State Sexual Abuse Registry check, and National and State Child Abuse Registry Check per DelaCare regulations.

Preferred Requirements

Twelve (12) college credits from a regionally accredited institution in recreation, elementary education, school-age care or school-age administration AND

One (1) year of full time experience (must be equivalent to 1,000 hours) working with children in kindergarten through sixth grade in a group setting.

Preferred Qualifications (School-Age Administrator)

Fifteen (15) college credits with three (3) from each of the following area: child development/learning, environment/curriculum, social-emotional development, observation/assessment; and one three-credit course in school-age elective AND

Eighteen (18) months of (must be equivalent to 1,500 hours) experience working with children kindergarten through sixth grade in group setting.

Bachelor's Degree in related field

Working Conditions The majority of the work time is split between an office and Club setting, which may include activities out of doors.

Work Hours Monday- Friday, 9:00am- 5:00pm. Occasional evening and weekend hours for events required. 20% travel within the state as needed.
