Overview RapidSOS is seeking an experienced and business-minded attorney to join our Legal team as Corporate Counsel, Contractor on a 6-month contract basis to support a variety of initiatives aligned with the Company’s growth plans. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a mission-driven environment and is excited by the opportunity to advise across a wide array of legal areas including commercial contracting, government procurement, and data privacy. The role will report directly to the General Counsel and work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales, Revenue Operations, Strategy, Product and Public Safety.
Responsibilities
Serving as a trusted partner to internal teams on legal matters related to contract strategy, data use and privacy Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements across verticals Advising on compliance with U.S. and international government procurement best practices and compliance requirements Developing and refining internal policies, processes, and templates to improve legal operations and scalability Staying current on key regulatory developments in privacy, commercial, open source, and related legal areas Taking ownership of legal matters and administrative tasks, delivering high-quality work with accountability and minimal supervision Qualifications
J.D. with an active bar license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction and in good standing 5+ years of relevant legal experience with a mix of in-house or law firm experience supporting technology companies Strong experience negotiating complex commercial contracts including SaaS and sales-related agreements Familiarity with public sector sales and government procurement requirements A practical, business-savvy mindset with a focus on enabling the business while managing legal risk The ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and offer creative, solution-oriented advice Job details
