Job Description The Education Department at BHCC is seeking adjunct instructor(s) to teach courses focused on Elementary Education.

Courses Include

EDU-103 Intro and Foundations of Education | In-person | Between 8am-2pm The course is designed to provide an overview of the cultural, sociological, political, and historical underpinnings of the American education system and how these areas impact professional educators. Students will review local, state, and national policies, regulations, and legislation pertaining to Pre-K-12 education. Students will be introduced to the profession of education including the school experience, selected legal and ethical issues, and their role as educators through a field experience in an area school.

EDU-110 Intro to Curriculum Development and Instruction | In-person | Between 8am-2pm The course introduces students to the cyclical nature of classroom instruction: planning, instruction, and assessment through theory, research, and application. Students will demonstrate proficiency in using materials and the classroom environment to enhance the teaching and learning of all students, including those from diverse backgrounds and with disabilities.

Requirements

Masters degree in Education or Teaching.

Experience teaching in K-12 public school setting.

Desire to prepare future educators to provide high-quality instruction.

Commitment to helping future educators think critically about how education systems impact students.

Additional Information

Salary:

$1,397.00 per credit hour

The final candidate will undergo Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) and Sex Offender Registry Information (SORI) background screenings in accordance with state regulations. The results of these screenings may impact the hiring decision.
