Job Purpose/Description

Serve Customers in newly modified Beakers Cafe, Located in the Science Building

Job Duties Giving exceptional customer service to our guests. Promoting our products. Cleaning all equipment and sanitizing all surfaces. Selling and making hot and cold coffee drinks. Assisting customers to figure out what they may want to drink and /or eat. Being knowledgeable about the products we make and sell. Washing Dishes, Pots, and Pans. Keeping the Dining area clean. Communicating with Supervisors and Managers. Stocking the line during shift and re-stocking afterward for the next day. Ensuring that all food and drink is rung in properly and that inventory is accounted for through proper cashiering procedures. Required Qualifications

Must be a current or incoming CSS student Federal work study eligibility is required (international students exempt) Must be willing to take Food service training Anyone applying for this position should be able to come to work with a positive attitude and friendly disposition. At times this job is stressful and multi-tasking is required to complete the tasks at hand so the applicant should be able to move as quickly as needed and be able to prioritize tasks to get their job done as efficiently as possible. Applicants need to be able to lift up to 20 pounds, push food carts, bend, reach and move quickly. Must be able to walk distances carrying food. People chosen for this job would be working with very hot equipment and required to work with safety in mind. There are also cleaning supplies we use daily so anyone with an aversion to these things may not want to consider applying. Showing up on time for scheduled shifts dressed in proper work attire. Preparing all food with health codes in mind. Communicating with Supervisors and Management. Keeping busy and filling downtime with accomplishing tasks and being productive. Helping to train and coach new employees by answering questions and mentoring. Special Instructions to Applicants

Students will be given a work shirt and hat upon hire but will be required to bring black pants. Blue Jeans, Yoga Pants, Sweatpants, Shorts are not allowed. Students are recommended to purchase non-slip shoes however non-slip shoe covers will be provided if needed.
