Electrical Consultants, Inc., a leading power engineering consulting firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Substation Senior Engineer in the Phoenix, AZ office. This position involves configuring and producing engineering drawings for the installation and commissioning of electro-mechanical and microprocessor protection relay systems in high voltage substations.
The role includes designing systems used to protect and control the operation of distribution and transmission lines, power transformers, capacitor banks, reactors, and electrical buses in substations and switchyards. The successful candidate will collaborate with design teams on conceptual, preliminary, and final station project designs ranging from 4.16 kV to 500 kV. Responsibilities include producing one-line, three-line, schematic, and wiring diagrams for high voltage substation projects. Mentoring less experienced staff and occasional travel are also expected.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) 5+ years of experience specifying, configuring, and producing engineering drawings for high voltage substation protection relay systems Extensive background in power system protection and control Proven team management skills Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills Ability to pass client-mandated drug and background checks and meet auto insurance requirements No sponsorship required for employment now or in the future Compensation and Benefits:
