Availability: Available for off-hours and holidays as needed to support live events.
Role: On-site AV Support Engineer to handle day-to-day maintenance, troubleshooting, break/fix, device setup, and readiness for live production spaces.
The broadcast and upstream engineering teams cover traditional broadcast gear, while this role is focused on supporting all in-room consumer-level AV technology and operator desk equipment.
Responsibilities
Provide Tier 0/1 support for consumer AV devices, operator desks, HDMI switchers, video walls, and other facility AV systems.
Handle setup/breakdown for live events, regular maintenance, firmware/app updates, and ensure each device is properly configured and documented.
Assist with routine tasks (device deployment into the Adder IP KVM ecosystem, HDMI troubleshooting, Apple TV, Roku, Xbox, PlayStation, etc. configuration) and respond to requests from remote engineering teams (e.g., network ping, basic DHCP checks).
Update and maintain documentation, flag recurring issues, and participate in room configuration based on event needs.
Collaborate with broadcast engineers, operators, software engineers, and infrastructure architects.
Qualifications / Experience
5+ Years supporting and maintaining AV Systems.
Familiarity with broadcast engineering systems and workflows.
Familiarity with enterprise IP Video Distribution Systems.
Experience with IP KVM systems (Adder).
Previous experience supporting both Mac and Windows Operating Systems in an enterprise environment.
Experience with Lucid Chart, Miro, Draw.io, or similar diagramming software.
Working knowledge of HDMI standards and troubleshooting practices.
Working knowledge of SDI (IP and Baseband) standards, signal specs, and troubleshooting practices.
Familiar with broadcast common frame rates, conversions and color spaces.
Familiarity with video transport standards, including both baseband (SDI) and IP video (SMPTE 2110, SRT, WebRTC, Multicast, UDP, MPEG-TS).
Technical troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills across AV and IT domains.
Ability to read and interpret system diagrams, signal flows, and device configuration documentation.
Strong communication and coordination skills, ability to work independently and cross-functionally.
Customer service oriented.
