Main Street Wholesale Meats is a leading wholesale meat distributor specializing in beef, pork, veal, lamb, poultry, and more across the Tri-State area. Our success is built on strong customer relationships, high-quality products, and decades of expertise in the protein industry. We are looking for a driven, hands-on Director of Sales and Pricing who knows the meat business inside and out and can take our sales operations to the next level.

The Director of Sales & Pricing will be the driving force behind our sales growth, margin optimization, and customer engagement. This is not a “desk job”; we want a meat-savvy sales leader who can train, coach, and lead our sales reps while also rolling up their sleeves to sell, upsell, and price deals daily.

You’ll coordinate between inventory, sales, and customers to make sure we’re selling the right products, at the right time, at the right price.

The starting salary range for this position is $100,000 - $150,000, based on experience.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee a team of 5+ independent sales reps.

Train inside sales and order takers on how to drive sales and profitability through upselling techniques, customer service best practices, and product knowledge.

Establish sales standards, call guides, and upselling scripts to ensure consistent, high-quality support for our accounts.

Revenue Growth & Account Management

Drive higher average order values by promoting add-ons, new products, and premium cuts.

Support reps with key accounts; step in on big opportunities and customer negotiations.

Maintain and grow relationships with current customers while developing new ones.

Act as the in-house expert on wholesale beef, pork, veal, lamb, poultry, and specialty cuts.

Review and adjust daily pricing to maximize margins while staying competitive.

Match available inventory with customer needs to minimize waste and maximize sales.

Sales Strategy & Reporting

Track sales performance, trends, and margins; provide weekly reports and recommendations.

Develop sales programs and promotions to boost revenue.

Identify market trends, competitor pricing, and new business opportunities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.

Meat Industry Experience Required– Strong working knowledge of wholesale cuts across different proteins including but not limited to beef, pork, veal, lamb, poultry.

Proven track record in sales leadership in a wholesale meat or protein distribution business.

Experience with daily pricing, margin control, and inventory management.

Strong leadership and coaching skills – can motivate a sales team and hold them accountable.

Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.

Comfortable in both inside sales (phones, pricing, training) and outside sales (customer visits, business development).

Highly organized, detail-oriented, and data-driven.
