Responsibilities
Lead identification, qualification, and capture of new business for the Aftermarket unit related to Talladega, Alabama component repair and overhaul operations, in partnership with product line leadership and other functions focused on avionics, heads up displays (HUDS), Multi-function displays, helmet mounted displays, radar, electronic warfare and other electronic equipment.
Establish and maintain direct, personal relationships with key government and industry customers.
Lead the new business capture process from opportunity identification through qualification, pursuit, and capture, including developing and briefing decision gate reviews.
Continuously assess Elbit’s capabilities against customer requirements and recommend improvements to alignment.
Assess the market and competition and make partnership recommendations to strengthen Elbit’s competitive position for new opportunities.
Establish and maintain relationships with Elbit counterparts at ESL and ESA.
Collaborate with engineering teams to support system modifications and upgrades.
Document and report on system performance, issues, and resolutions to drive continuous improvement.
Travel to customer sites as needed to identify needs and requirements for Elbit’s products and services.
Increase the value of new business opportunities in the aftermarket funnel, including strategic planning, competitive analysis, Elbit position analysis, and categorization of opportunities.
Build and foster effective customer intimacy and communications to understand and influence requirements, inform customers of Elbit capabilities, and coordinate efforts to satisfy requirements.
Develop win strategies, competitive analyses, price-to-win assessments, probabilities of win, and business cases to support milestone decisions (Pursue/No Pursue, Bid/No Bid, etc.).
Initiate and leverage trade show displays, brochures, product demonstrations, white papers, and press releases to generate new opportunities and increase the probability of win for existing opportunities.
Lead or support proposal efforts, gate reviews, capture meetings, and related activities.
Serve as liaison between customers, Corporate Marketing, Engineering, Contracts, Elbit Systems’ global sister companies and other key personnel as required for successful pursuit of new business.
Recommend priorities for the company’s IR&D efforts that would support success in the assigned market segment or product.
Manage discretionary budgets as assigned and generate follow-on business opportunities.
Other related duties as assigned by senior management.
Business Relationships
US Air Force Air Logistics Complex (ALCs) and Foreign Liaison Officers (FLOs) – Primarily Hill AFB, with coverage for Warner Robins AFB and Tinker AFB.
Defense OEM industry partners (e.g., Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, BAE, Raytheon, L3Harris, and others).
DOD and foreign military customers including Users, Funding Sponsors, Requirements Authorities, and the Acquisition Community.
Program and Project Managers, Engineering, Contracts, Corporate Marketing, Congressional Liaison Staff.
Global Elbit Systems companies and affiliates; Entrepreneurs and Innovators; Academia. Decision makers open to doing business with Elbit.
Qualifications
Education (Highest Level Required/Preferred):
Master’s degree preferred (10+ years of management experience may substitute); Bachelor’s degree required (engineering/technical discipline preferred).
Experience Required:
7+ years of relevant business development experience; demonstrated ability to capture new business with the USAF and other customers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
7+ years of commercial or defense industry business development and proposal experience with a proven track record of growth and new client opportunity capture within Tier 1 Aerospace; product and industry knowledge of commercial/military avionics and electronic equipment; DoD and foreign military acquisition experience preferred; strong oral and written communications; strong interpersonal skills; willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time; DoD security clearance or ability to acquire one is desirable.
