Director, Global Compensation We are seeking a strategic and innovative Director of Global Compensation to lead the execution and support the design of our global compensation strategy. This leader will build and scale competitive, equitable, and future-ready programs that align with business goals, foster a high-performance culture, and attract top talent worldwide. A key focus will be leveraging AI and advanced analytics to modernize compensation planning, enhance pay equity, and enable data-driven decisions. This role reports directly to the VP, Total Rewards and partners closely with senior leadership, HR, Finance, Legal, and global teams to ensure compensation practices align with business priorities, market trends, compliance standards, and emerging technologies. ResponsibilitiesCompensation Strategy & Leadership
Partner with the VP, Total Rewards to develop and lead the execution of a global compensation strategy, including base pay, short-term incentives, and equity planning. Serve as the company’s subject matter expert on compensation philosophy, frameworks, and best practices. Oversee annual compensation planning processes, including merit cycles, bonus programs, and equity refresh planning. Ensure ongoing compliance with global compensation regulations, including gender pay equity, local labor laws, and tax requirements. Global Market Competitiveness
Drive innovation in pay equity, incentive design, and benchmarking through AI-enabled tools and insights. Manage and evolve a comprehensive global job architecture and leveling framework. Build and maintain a robust global market intelligence infrastructure by partnering with survey providers, consultants, and internal stakeholders. Conduct market benchmarking and pricing reviews across multiple geographies to ensure competitive positioning. AI-Driven Innovation
Collaborate with HR, People Analytics, and Technology teams to deploy responsible, scalable AI solutions in Total Rewards processes. Design and implement AI-enabled tools for compensation planning, pay transparency modeling, and real-time market pricing. Lead the development of intelligent pay frameworks using predictive analytics to proactively manage compensation risk and reward alignment. Build scalable, self-serve dashboards using AI to deliver real-time insights for business leaders and HR partners. Change Enablement & Adoption
Lead change management and training initiatives to drive adoption of AI tools and practices across the Total Rewards function. Promote AI and data literacy among compensation professionals and business stakeholders. Team & Stakeholder Management
Manage and develop a high-performing global compensation team focused on innovation, scalability, and business impact. Provide tools and training to HR Business Partners and business leaders to elevate compensation literacy and informed decision-making. Influence senior leadership through data-driven insights, predictive modeling, and strategic recommendations. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred. 10+ years of progressive experience in global compensation, including strategy development, program execution, and minimum of 4 years in leadership roles. Proven experience in applying AI, machine learning, or advanced analytics to compensation design, pay equity analysis, or market intelligence. Experience working in a high-growth tech environment and/or publicly traded company. Strong analytical, modeling, and data visualization skills (Excel, Workday, or similar tools). Excellent executive presence, with proven ability to influence and communicate across all levels of the organization. Preferred Competencies
CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) or related certification. Familiarity with global equity tax and mobility issues. Demonstrated success leading large-scale change initiatives in compensation. Why Proofpoint
