Your Opportunity
We're seeking a
Senior Cost Estimator
to join our dynamic team. In this role, you'll be integral to our multidisciplinary municipal, industrial, and alternative project delivery teams. If you're passionate about numbers, thrive on precision, and want to contribute to impactful projects, this opportunity is ideal for you. Your Key Responsibilities Cost Estimation Excellence:
Supervise, facilitate, and coordinate the development of accurate, timely, and detailed cost estimates for major capital and construction projects, guiding project outcomes and ensuring client satisfaction. Analytical Insight:
Prepare cost estimates by analyzing costs, materials, labor, bid documentation, and specifications associated with each project, ensuring reliability. Database Management:
Design, implement, and maintain cost estimating databases using various software applications to streamline processes. Value Management:
Collaborate with project teams to review drawings and specifications, determine costs, and assist in value management for cost-effective decisions. Validation and Guidance:
Evaluate third-party estimates, track market conditions, and provide expert estimating guidance for complex projects. Technical Skills:
Perform quantity take-offs for large concrete structures, including formwork, reinforcement, and embedded metals; contribute to project sequencing and scheduling. Documentation:
Write concise Basis of Estimate and Basis of Schedule reports. Client Collaboration:
Participate in client cost estimate and schedule reviews to ensure alignment with project goals. Risk Assessment:
Establish site-specific estimating criteria, including labor, equipment, and material supply, and direct cost and schedule risk preparation. Collaboration with Design Team:
Analyze critical path activities and resolve issues with the design team. Team Building:
Assist management in developing the estimating and scheduling team, participate in staffing and technical development. Experience & Skills:
Minimum 15 years in cost estimating or related fields; experience in developing estimates and schedules per AACEI guidelines; proficiency in MCACES, MII, Sage, @Risk; familiarity with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office; strong problem-solving and collaborative attitude. This position primarily involves office work, with some field work as needed. This description is not exhaustive; duties may change at any time. Pay Range:
