My client, a fast-growing CPA firm based in New Jersey are seeking to hire a Tax Director or a Senior Tax Manager seeking to take the next step into a Director role to be part of an expansion phase the firm is going through.

Job Description:

As a Tax Director you will lead our tax department, overseeing all tax-related matters, providing strategic guidance, and ensuring compliance while maximizing our clients' financial positions. This role is pivotal in driving excellence, fostering a collaborative environment, and delivering high-quality tax services.

Responsibilities:

Lead the tax department, providing strategic direction and guidance to a team of tax professionals.

Manage a portfolio of high-profile clients, offering expert advice on complex tax matters and ensuring client satisfaction.

Develop and implement tax planning strategies to optimize clients' financial positions while adhering to tax laws and regulations.

Conduct research on tax laws, stay updated on changes, and provide guidance to the team and clients.

Collaborate with other departments to offer comprehensive client solutions and cross-functional expertise.

Mentor and coach team members, conducting performance reviews, and fostering professional development.

Continuously improve tax processes, leveraging technology and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements:

CPA License is mandatory.

Must currently be working in a CPA firm

Extensive experience in tax planning, compliance, and consulting within a professional services environment.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team effectively.

In-depth knowledge of tax laws, regulations, and accounting principles.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to adapt to changing tax laws and regulations and provide innovative tax solutions.
