Project Director

The Project Director position is responsible for managing and coordinating projects of all sizes and complexities through all phases of design, permitting and construction. Project Directors also provide leadership for site Project Managers by managing, coordinating, and developing ATI staff. Operates with significant independence and minimal supervision as the principal project representative.

Responsibilities

Works with ATI operations, sales, marketing and management to operationally manage reconstruction projects following fire or water damage, mold, hurricanes, tornadoes and other natural disasters.

Manages multiple projects simultaneously over a multi-location region.

Reviews projects to ensure that scope is clearly documented and understood by the customer.

Develops marketing strategies and activities that will drive business and maintain client book of business.

Establishes and maintains client relationships as well as relationships with insurance adjusters and claim representatives in order to cultivate existing accounts, blossom existing accounts, and gain future accounts.

Utilizes Xactimate software to estimate residential and commercial water, fire, wind, and mold restoration projects, including the reconstruction.

Handles all estimating inquiries for the team and demonstrate a high level of problem resolution and technical assistance.

Establishes a completion schedule that is achievable and agreed to with the customer.

Reviews and inspects work performed to ensure quality.

Communicates throughout the project with the customer via email, the assigned Project Manager, A/R and the project team.

Negotiates restoration services and insurance claims settlements.

Writes scope of work for repair of water damage emergencies and mold remediation.

Reads blueprints and architectural drawings and is able to develop detailed estimates and scope of works from these documents.

Develops estimates pursuant to ATI estimating standards, including the creation of accurate floor plans in Xactimate.

Produces complete and accurate estimates including subcontractor solicitation, quantity surveying, and accurate pricing.

Reviews completed files for profitability and accuracy of the original scope of work.

Submits estimates in a timely manner determined by company requirements.

Supports the project managers to provide estimates on change orders for current projects.

Provides technical explanations to clients, adjusters, consultants, and others.

Prepares all budgets and schedules for assigned jobs.

Works closely with management team to ensure successful completion of assigned jobs.

Updates status of jobs within company software program.

Attends all appropriate company meetings.

Attends ATI sponsored operations and safety training courses.

Additional duties required as needed.

Certifications

Project Directors Xactimate Level 1

Senior Project Directors: Xactimate Level 2

Executive Project Directors: Xactimate Level 3

Education And Experience

High school

Required experience: 5 years restoration experience.

Must have 3+ years of experience as an Estimator or Project Manager with a disaster restoration company and knowledge/experience of water mitigation, fire restoration and mold remediation.

Competencies

Must be able to work without supervision.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Strong communication and relationship skills.

Knowledge of practices and procedures in water, fire, and mold trades.

Ability to read, interpret and communicate oral and written instructions.

Ability to train and supervise employees (Senior and Executive PDs).

Ability to exercise judgement and act appropriately.

Management skills (Senior and Executive PDs).

Excellent interpersonal skills and attention to detail.

Strong multi-tasking abilities.

Ability to react well under pressure.

Able to prioritize and plan work.

Must be reliable and on time.

Strong background with identifying, negotiating with and managing vendors and subcontractors.
