Trillium Professional has a direct-hire opportunity for an AOSP Software Engineer. This role is 100% remote.
Key Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and maintain Linux device drivers for x86 and ARM-based platforms. • Develop and customize Android AOSP for embedded hardware platforms, including HAL, system services, and low-level components. • Deliver robust, maintainable solutions that comply with POSIX standards and industry best practices. Lead the development of Linux-based measurement software components written in C++. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware, security, and application developers to deliver integrated solutions. • Act as a technical lead and mentor, conducting code reviews and contributing to architectural decisions. • Stay current with emerging technologies in embedded systems, Linux kernel, and wireless communication.

Desired Expertise: • Strong proficiency in Linux kernel and device driver development (x86 and ARM). • Proven experience with 802.11 WLAN driver development and wireless protocol stacks. • Hands-on experience with Android AOSP customization, including migration, porting, and adaptation to specific hardware platforms. • Proficient in C and C++; working knowledge of Java. • Solid understanding of networking protocols and wireless standards. • Experience with system-level debugging, performance profiling, and diagnostics. • Expertise in POSIX-compliant Linux systems. Preferred Knowledge & Skills: • Experience with SELinux security contexts and policy development. • Understanding of encryption protocols and authentication methods (e.g., PEAP, CHAP, SSL/TLS, 802.lx). • Strong debugging and performance tuning skills on embedded Linux platforms. • Experience contributing to open-source communities or upstream projects. • Excellent communication and documentation skills. • Engagement with developer communities (e.g., XDA Developers) to stay current with trends and tools in Android and embedded development.
Qualifications: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. • 5-7 years of experience in embedded software engineering with a focus on AOSP. • Demonstrated success leading complex projects and collaborating across multidisciplinary teams.
