6 Month Contract Job Description The primary purpose of this position is to participate in the design, development, and maintenance of the ORESTAR application, utilizing tools including Java, Struts II, Java Scripting, and PL/SQL. Systems Development and Planning Analyze diverse system narrative statements, complex customer requirements, and business rules; translate them into functional system and/or program specifications; and capture functional and design requirements. Recommend options to best utilize application development software and technologies to maximize organizational benefits. Ensure configuration management processes are followed for development code. Integrate applications between agencies and programs. Coordinate with business staff, communications and publishing staff, and network staff for coding extensions to network and web service facilities. Review, analyze, and modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging, and documenting programs. Requires a bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience in the field or related area. Familiar with various concepts, practices, and procedures. Uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs complex tasks and may lead contractor staff. A high degree of creativity and latitude are expected.
