Shunt/Yard Dog Driver

We are seeking a Shunt/Yard Dog Driver for our East Chicago, IN location who is safety conscious. As a key part of the team to keep things moving, you must be able to multi-task and communicate well. You will be responsible for moving trailers to load and unload within our Safety-Kleen facilities. Why work for Safety-Kleen? Health and safety is our #1 priority Competitive wages Comprehensive health benefits coverage Generous paid time off, company paid training and tuition reimbursement Positive and safe work environments Opportunities for growth and development Ensures health and safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes Operate shunt truck to move trailers within the facility for loading, unloading, and or cleaning Scale full and empty trailers to determine gallons loaded or unloaded Review shipping and receiving paperwork for product to be loaded Performs trailer inspections to comply with requirements of the Federal Railroad D.O.T. prior to loading, unloading and/or offering for transport Works closely with transportation, the Lab, and bulk carriers to ensure products are shipped on time and in specification. Assist in assignment of trailers for cleaning, and loading What does it take to be a part of our Safety-Kleen team? HS Diploma or equivalent 1+ years' previous Shunt Driving/Yard Truck experience Plant/industrial experience preferred Must be able to multi-task Strong communication skills to work well drivers, members of supervision, and operators from various departments Work well under pressure Safety-Kleen Systems, a Clean Harbors company, has a commitment to excellence deeply rooted in a strong sense of tradition.
