Chief Accounting Officer
Overview
- Reports to Chief Financial Officer, with regular interface with: Capital Markets, Due Diligence, Property and Asset Management, Construction, Fund Controller, Property Accounting Controller and staff: including Four internal teams of AC, senior accounting professionals, each with Accounts Payable and AR/Treasury personnel
- Oversee property management accounting, development (job cost) accounting
- Knowledge of real estate/property management accounting and finance including: Fair value accounting and ASC 820, Preferred returns and fund distributions, Partnership tax returns, Real estate investment types: Retail, Industrial, Office, Multifamily, Real estate development: Predevelopment through full construction
- Pass through (CAM, Ins, RE Tax, direct bill, etc.) billing and related billing under commercial real estate leases- Multifamily property management accounting
- Oversee/coordinate treasury functions (wires, ACH and EFTs)
- Interface with Capital Markets team – variance reporting, annual property budgets
- Interface with external auditors
- Oversee month end close (account reconciliations, financial statement analytics, etc.)
- Oversee the development, strategy, and implementation of AI technologies as it relates to bookkeeping and financial reporting
- Continual evaluation of systems and processes of property management accounting function
- ERP Systems: Yardi/Elevate
- Other Systems: Blackline, Center, Spreadsheet Server, Kyriba, Bank Treasury Systems, Investorbridge/Backstop, Additional systems to be determined
