Head of Compliance
Base pay range
$180,000.00/yr - $200,000.00/yr

We’re seeking a Head of Compliance to oversee our North American compliance function, ensuring adherence to U.S. and Canadian regulations while fostering business growth and exceptional customer experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance Program Leadership: Design, implement, and manage the North America Compliance Program across all regimes—regulatory compliance, licensing, AML/CFT, sanctions, anti-corruption, and more.
- Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate compliance risks across all business units and subsidiaries.
- Regulatory Expertise: Maintain deep knowledge of relevant laws and guidelines; brief executives and the Board; train teams on new requirements; develop robust policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Monitoring & Reporting: Oversee compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies; prepare accurate regulatory filings including MSB reports, SARs, and OFAC submissions.
- Regulatory Engagement: Lead examinations, license renewals, and inquiries; build and maintain positive relationships with regulators.
- Product & Business Integration: Embed compliance controls into new products and initiatives from inception.
- Third-Party Oversight: Manage due diligence and ongoing monitoring of vendors and partners.
- Program Effectiveness: Conduct compliance testing, audits, and reviews to ensure program efficiency.
- Licensing Management: Acquire and maintain all necessary business and regulatory licenses, including those for international operations.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with other departments to align compliance and customer experience objectives.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing compliance team.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in a related field.
- 10+ years' experience in compliance, including at least 2 years in a managerial role within a fintech payments company.
- Expert knowledge of U.S. and Canadian regulations, including BSA/AML and OFAC sanctions requirements.
- Hands-on experience in AML compliance and product compliance within payments or money service businesses.
- Preferred: Experience integrating technology solutions into compliance programs.
- Preferred: Experience working with international stakeholders.
