Overview
Join Walbridge as a Project Engineer working on Data Center, Vehicle Manufacturing or General Build Construction projects. The role involves planning, developing, coordinating, and managing onsite construction engineering activities for large projects. Technical support includes participation in construction planning and design, interpretation of design, application of construction methods, resolution and documentation of design conflicts, constructability reviews, and shop drawing processing. You’ll also develop, implement and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents in the Prolog database, material status reports, process requests for information, and meeting minutes.
Location
You can be located anywhere in the US, if you are highly willing to travel to client projects on a long-term basis.
Responsibilities
- Project Execution: Ensure project engineering activities comply with company and contract requirements and support overall construction schedule. Provide technical support for construction effort including participation in construction planning and design; interpretation of design; application of construction methods; resolution and documentation of design conflicts; constructability reviews, and shop drawing processing. Develop, implement and administer project engineering procedures and other work controlling documents.
- Resource Management: Manage project engineering and related personnel functions and activities, including subcontractor planning and administration, and work assignments. Interface with all on-site departments as required to resolve problems and ensure quality of construction in support of overall project schedules.
- Risk Management: Represent company, project and/or department during A/E, client and project management meetings.
- Technical Support: Serve as the key technical person on projects and may be responsible for one or more small to medium sized project(s).
Qualifications
To qualify for the role, you must have:
- 4-year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience.
- Minimum of 3 years' construction engineering experience.
- Advanced knowledge of construction engineering technology, codes, standards, etc., and an in-depth understanding of the interdependence between other functional units.
