Overview
Manager Tech Lead (TL) role at McDonald’s Global Technology. The Manager Tech Lead (TL) will be responsible for technical solutioning, development, and deployment of products within the Crew & Manager Experiences group. The TL partners with our global product team to define and deliver the associated technical products and solutions using a mix of internal and external (vendor) resources and products. The Manager Tech Lead (TL) is responsible for the development of application/services and architecture of the applications ensuring they are secure and standardized while being easily consumed by other services. They ensure tech design patterns and standard methodologies are consistently applied across systems.
Responsibilities
- Lead McDonalds engineering squads & partner with our restaurant platform, architecture, product, and engineering teams to create solution designs
- Partner with PM (in a Product squad) to lead the entire lifecycle of the backlog grooming process and attend all squad level ceremonies and act as a leader of the Software Development Engineers (SDE's) of the respective squad(s)
- Lead the output (quality and efficiency) of internal & external development squads to ensure they are delivering to the standards required by McD through code and design reviews
- Answer technical questions from the squads and stay accountable for technical solutioning
- Collaborate closely with members in other functions (Product Management, Engineering, and UI/UX) to ensure that the technical solution meets or exceeds the teams plans and goals for crew & manager experiences
- Effectively diagnose and make recommendations to solve issues that may span multiple teams
- Collaborate to define the go-forward support plan for deployed products to our markets globally
- Solve defined problems; identify ways to modify processes to meet end customer needs (e.g. operator or customer challenges with a particular application solution)
Qualifications
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience
- 5+ years of professional software development experience utilizing .NET Core/.NET Framework and web technologies.
- 3+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems.
- Experience with modern, full-stack CI/CD technologies such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and lead across remote teams and a global organization.
- Knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) concepts, protocols, and technologies, including but not limited to identity provisioning, authentication, authorization, RBAC, SSO, and federation.
- Experience with cybersecurity principles and best practices, including risk management, access controls, and secure coding principles.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- An understanding of the technical aspects of software integration, software architecture, design patterns, database design, and application security

- Retail experience - Point of sale systems or kitchen management solutions
- Experience working on projects that span multiple organizations, geographies and business units

Salary Range: The expected salary range for this role is $129,800.00 - $165,490.00 per year. The above represents the expected salary range for this job requisition. Ultimately, in determining your pay, we may also consider your experience, and other job-related factors.
