Vice President, Controller
Lead with operational excellence as the Vice President, Controller at Bassett Medical Center in the scenic and historic village of Cooperstown, New York.
The Position
The Vice President, Controller will be responsible for ensuring the organization's financial integrity and lead efforts to produce accurate, transparent, and timely financial reporting. Areas of responsibility include month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, accounts payable, payroll, general accounting, and property and plant equipment. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this leader will oversee four direct reports and approximately 35 FTEs. This leader will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and supporting the team with a focus on professional development, optimizing team structure, and aligning resources to meet organizational needs. Ideal candidates will be recognized subject matter experts in accounting, with a transparent, hands-on, and collaborative leadership style. Must be able to deliver accurate financial information promptly. Familiarity with Strata is preferred. This position requires an onsite leader; no hybrid or remote work opportunities are available.
Requirements
Bachelor's required; Master's preferred. An active CPA license is preferred. A minimum of five years of senior-level accounting experience is required; three years of experience working in an integrated delivery system is preferred.
Compensation Range
The base salary range for this position is $275,000 to $301,000 annually. In addition, a leader may be eligible for other benefits, including but not limited to health insurance coverage, retirement benefits, and bonuses. The total compensation for the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors, including but not limited to scope of role, level of experience, education, accomplishments, internal equity, budget, and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. The base salary range listed above is a good faith determination of potential base compensation at the time of this job advertisement and may be modified in the future.
